I was explaining to a friend all the bells and whistles involved in the rigs I've been having such luck with and he exclaimed, "It's like the circus came to town!"
And thus was born THE CLOWN SHOW Halibut Rigs.
Look, by the time you've paid for a charter seat or gassed up your own boat to get far enough offshore where you know the big halibut are lurking hundreds of feet below the surface, you don't have time to waste and you sure don't want to go home empty handed.  You've got to pull out the stops and throw everything at them.
That's why I've spared no expense in designing these custom rigs to appeal to everything that big predator bottom fish are interested in.  You've got sight, sound, and scent all working together to create as much commotion as possible hundreds of feet from the boat and ensure you get bit, stay bit, and land the fish:
Super bright flashing green deep drop LED (reusable with replaceable batteries)
Large & loud green glow rattle
Green glow tubing on the gangion lines - prevents tangles

While these work fine on their own, I like to sweeten the pot by threading a locally sourced herring onto each 16/0 circle hook before I drop in.
These rigs are so stout and durable that I've been using the same one for most of the last 2 summers, over which I have successfully landed over 40 Pacific halibut running 8 to 10 miles offshore out of Humboldt Bay.  I very rarely come home empty handed (and if I do it's probably because somebody got seasick and I'm a nice guy so I pull the plug.  Once.  Come on my boat again and you can lean over the rail all day, you should know what you're in for at that point.  Unless you're my wife.  Then we might negotiate.  A little. Maybe. Depends on how long it's been since I got a chance to catch a halibut.).
LED requires a pair of quality AA batteries, not included.  Note that these LEDs are WAY brighter than the little sealed 'diamond' LEDs that have a little button battery that you can't change so you basically throw it away after a few uses.
You will obviously also need to supply your own sinker.  Depending on the current on any given day I need anywhere from 2 to 3 pounds to stay on the bottom at 300 ft of depth.  The included weight dropper uses 50lb test to ensure that if you get snagged up you only lose your lead but can still retrieve your valuable investment in this halibut rig.  I typically connect directly to 80lb braid on my reel and I've never lost one yet.
