    Description

Vintage 1960s stereo valve tube mic preamp...!!!
As used by John Lennon in his home studio setup
Quality is fantastic! Last buyer stated they sound better than there Neve units costing four times as much...
A beautiful sounding preamp mic unit which will add lots of sparkle to your recordings. Designed as a Mic and Line input preamplifier but also perfect for use with a computer DAW system to add some analogue flavour to warm your sound!
Sound quality is fantastic, very warm, bright and clear with almost no background noise at all! Amazing considering it's about 50 years old
This is a genuine vintage item built to the highest standards with top quality circuits and components. Mullard Mustard capacitors used throughout the audio path
Track synths and drum machines through this and it brings your tracks to life! Sounds incredible!
This is a bargain price for a stereo unit so grab it while you can... A modern version would easily set you back £2000 today and maybe more. Many of these units have being sold to well known studios all over the world and have had nothing but good feedback and comments from the buyers... many have come back to buy more!
Ready to use high end studio unit complete with power supply built in
    Valve types used: 4 x ECC83, 1 x ECC82
This type of unit was used by John Lennon at his home studio.
Fully working and just serviced too in superb condition and sounding fantastic!
I have had pro quality 19" rack enclosures made just for these units to be housed
Vocals sound stunning recorded through these! Very warm sound
    USA Buyer Postage Only...!!!
Original 1960s British  Valve Preamp unit custom built into a  19” rack enclosure
Removed from a high quality British recording equipment and adapted for modern studio use. A new version would cost thousands of pounds to buy
These units have been used in studios all over the world for recording music, tv shows, film sound tracks and just about any sound recording application. Used at the BBC in the 1950's and 1960's. Also used by Joe Meek on his recordings and  as effects
To keep the original vintage valve sound characteristics, quality and sparkle the components and circuits have been left unchanged as much as possible. Only real change was to build into a standard rack to be housed with other studio gear. Fully tested and serviced too. Some old capacitors were changed to higher quality types to improve reliability.
They only way to get that vintage valve sound is to use the original equipment and not some modern replica built from low cost components and valves. I have tried various modern versions but found them to be lacking in any real warmth or sound quality. This is as good as it gets! Sound quality is fantastic with hardly any background noise or hum even at high output levels
Not only is this a high quality mic preamp but also works as sound processor to add sparkle to any line / instrument inputs required. In my personal setup i use this with vintage analog synths like the Minimoog, Sh-101 and Sequential Circuits Pro-One to add gain as well as a superb smooth distortion effect from overdriving the amps. Same can be done with guitars to give the valve amplifier overdrive effect and great for real punchy drums
This version Pre was designed with high grade components - Mullard Mustard capacitors, higher grade resistors
Will work with  Dynamic mics, phantom powered mics and great for ribbon mic use too if you have the correct step up transformer

    Connections/controls
2 x mic inputs - Can also be used for direct connection of guitars
