    Description

As depicted in the picture, there are single stamps, strips of 2 or more stamps, small blocks, and
large blocks of 8 or more stamps
. There were 14-denominations issued in 1964 from the African country of Sierra Leone that compose 2-full sets of the
    7-Green
background John F. Kennedy overprints and the
    7-Yellow
    background
John F. Kennedy overprints. Moreover, these are self-adhesive stamps, which were quite unique in 1964 when 99%+ of all stamps issued by all countries had to be moistened on the back and then affixed to a mailing piece.
To find these Sierra Leone President John F. Kennedy full sets of yellow and green background memorial stamps as
strips and blocks, especially large blocks, is quite rare.
What is also intriguing about this collection is that there are printer's flaws such as light smudges and or minor color displacement on some of the overprinted stamps that may appear in the photograph.
These flaws were NOT caused by mishandling or by damage.
These flaws were caused by the printer of these stamps located in the United Kingdom unable to create, in some cases, perfect, clean overprints.
These printer aberrations you may find interesting because they show the difficulty of overprinting these stamps
with the likeness of President Kennedy and overprinting new currency denominations
    upon stamps that have a
slightly raised background surface on the front of each stamp that originally portrayed the map of Sierra Leone on each stamp.
